We agreed a reduced build price in exchange for the right to reuse the code, so the client got custom software at a fraction of the usual cost and we got a product. DeskBilling is a Windows desktop app with nine modules: Sales Dashboard, Generate Bills, Billing History, Credit Notes, Unpaid Bills, Products, Customers, Companies and Quotations. It handles several companies from one install, exports to Excel for filing, lets the business customise its invoice layout and stores everything locally. Today it is distributed free with a lifetime licence through our marketplace.
A client needed GST-correct billing without a monthly subscription, an internet dependency or their data sitting on someone else’s cloud. Commercial billing tools were priced for larger businesses, and a fully custom build was more than a small business should have to pay for.
